As an adventurous family from Toronto, my recent stay at the Red Lion was delightful for our crew. Nestled in a serene location near Coniston Water, it made for an ideal base for our outdoor activities. With easy access to boat hires and lovely launching spots, we enjoyed a perfect day paddling around the lake. The owners, Steve and Lucy, took the time to ensure we felt at home, and our four-legged family member, Jess, appreciated the warm welcome too. It was heartening to see that both children and dogs are embraced here. The spacious room we stayed in was very clean and provided all essentials, plus a lovely touch-gluten-free biscuits awaited us upon our arrival. Each evening, we relaxed in the cozy bar area while my children enjoyed the acoustic music night, where they even got a chance to strum with other budding musicians. And the breakfast? Quite generous, offering a range of options, including gluten-free. Our family would certainly recommend the Red Lion as a great stop for families seeking adventure and a friendly atmosphere.
